With over 20 years of experience in mobile radio access technologies, Stefano has a strong track record in system architecture, radio network development, and team leadership. As currently a System Architect at Swisscom, Stefano specializes in delivering innovative telecommunications solutions with a focus on 5G New Radio (NR), bringing extensive expertise in network planning, rollout and optimization.
Stefano holds a Master of Science in Telecommunication Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, complemented by collaborative studies at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. His distinguished international career includes collaborating with leading mobile operators across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, while acquiring valuable insights into a wide range of markets.
As Head of Humane Digital Transformation at the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH), Sarah advocates for technology development that prioritizes human dignity and fosters an inclusive, equitable digital future. Her research focuses on enabling human-machine interactions through participatory design approaches and developing effective upskilling strategies for both students and industrial workers. She also examines techno-narratives that influence decision-making and shape our collective vision of technology.
She engages the public through multilingual talks and workshops exploring the human dimensions of digital transformation, sparking dialogue on how technology can best serve society. Prof. Sarah participates in several panels and advisory boards, contributing her expertise to innovation and education initiatives.
She holds a PhD in Computer Science with a specialization in robotics from EPFL and has published extensively. Her work has been recognized with the Industry 4.0 Shapers award (2019) and the CHIRA Best Paper Award (2023).
With extensive experience in sociology, Soumaya heads the Humanities and Social Sciences Research Center and the Sociology Department at Ajman University, United Arab Emirates. Her work explores family dynamics, gender, social change, and culture, with a particular focus on how digital transformation shapes contemporary education and societies.
Her leadership and research excellence have been recognized through several distinctions, including the Best Research Centre Award (2025) and the Internationalization Award (2024), UAE. She has contributed as an expert to UNDP, OXFAM, and the Council of Europe, and serves as a jury member for the Best Research Article Award at the CAWTAR, as well as an Advisory Board member of the Barakat Watan Award for Creative Aging Design.
She holds a PhD and a Master’s in Sociology from the University of Strasbourg.
